Complete listing of available organs

This area of the website contains a current list of organs available for relocation. Compiled from information supplied by advisers, church and IBO members, it is the central source of information and is intended to assist those who have a need to find second hand or historically important instruments. We achieve this through allowing those who are changing instruments to list their instruments in return for a nominal GBP£40.00 annual fee to assist with administration costs.

While the IBO makes every effort to include as much detail as possible, details are offered in good faith and for guidance purposes only. Prospective purchasers are encouraged to seek confirmation of all details to their own satisfaction before proceeding with any arrangements.

The list is primarily presented by size of instrument in terms of number of manuals. You can select the number of manuals that you wish to view with the pulldown menu on the right to start your search. You can then move through the available instruments in that category using the controls at the top of each page. If you are returning to the lists to view a specific instrument, then you can navigate directly to it by entering the IBO reference number. You can also look for redundant organs by region. To avoid questions arising over the exact boundaries of a region, the search is by county so please do consider searching in neighbouring counties also if you are looking more locally than the entire UK.

For each entry, further contact details are held by the administrator who will respond to your enquiry. General guidance on relocating a pipe organ in your care is available from our publications section.

*** THE CHURCH OF SCOTLAND ***
The IBO has been made aware by the Scottish Federation of Organists of a significant announcement from the Church of Scotland. This is regarding numerous church closures resulting in many instruments becoming available. A full listing can be found here.

If you would like to add details of an organ you intend to relocate, please submit them here for inclusion on the list. If you have current knowledge of an instrument no longer being available, please update us.

Important

If you are considering work on your pipe organ (or indeed other areas of your church), please read the important general guidance on the need to obtain a Faculty for work in our publications section. This is particularly relevant within the Church of England but does relate also, at least in principal, to other denominations. More information can be found in our information leaflet.
