Approximate Dimensions : The pipe chamber is 2,700 mm wide; 2,000 mm deep and 2,900 mm high. The organ sits on a platform some 450 mm high and protrudes through the arch in front of the pipe chamber. The console which sits in front of the chamber is about 1000 mm deep by 1900 mm wide.

Detail : This two-manual (56 notes) and pedal (30 notes) tracker action instrument is thought to have been built by F C Nicholson of Newcastle about 1885 for a nearby Chapel and was moved to the present building in 1896. About 1995 the organ underwent a major restoration (possibly by Rushworth and Dreaper) when the current radiating pedal-board was installed. Since then it has been serviced regularly by Rushworth and Dreaper, then Forth Organs and recently John Lightbown and Sons of North Shields.
